东兴社区属广东省中山市东凤镇，驻地在镇政府西南方向约两公里处，西南侧隔小榄水道与小榄镇相望。该社区于2001年11月由三个原有机构合并而设，新名取自其中两个居委会名称的各一字。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

此地在元末明初由淤积形成伯公沙洲，旧名「灯盏围」。[1] 1958年，这里因集市兴起而形成圩镇，称东凤圩。此后先后更名为东凤大队、东凤村委会，并在1984年与1997年分别设立东凤居委会和兴华居委会，至2001年合并为现名。[2]

地理环境[edit]

社区东北侧与小沥村为邻，西北连接伯公社区，西面毗邻安乐村，紧挨105国道。辖区面积1200亩，约合0.8平方千米。[2][3]

人口民族[edit]

居民中户籍者4900人，外来流动者超过5000人，百度百科估计常住人口约1万人，统计口径与户籍数据不同。[1][3]

经济[edit]

社区产业门类较多，以家用电器、五金制品和小型加工为主，百度百科概括其以小家电制造为主导。近年推行「工改工」宗地项目，对3.0641公顷旧厂房进行改造，以此推动产业升级。[1][3]

文化[edit]

社区曾获「全国五四红旗团支部」、广东省文明社区与广东省绿色社区等称号。2019年9月，社区列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2021年12月，被认定为「2021年度中山市绿色社区」。[2][3]
