新民村位于三角镇，城乡分类为镇乡结合区。村民原住和平县青州镇一带，因1974年建设连平县翁潭水库而迁到如今的位置。迁入时该地叫建民，后改称新民。2026年3月，村里被认定为「广东省第三批百千万工程典型村镇」。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

1974年迁来后，新民与大湖镇向阳村同属一个大队；1977年自立为新民大队，归大湖公社管辖。1995年划归三角镇，1999年设新民村民委员会。[2]

近况[edit]

2025年12月6日，县长黄罡星来到新民村，宣讲党的二十届四中全会精神，并走访了解典型村培育情况。[4]
