南村村是紫金县敬梓镇所辖的行政村，村名据传由“篮断”谐音而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民间说法是：从前一户甘姓人带着母鸡和小狗迁居，经此地时篮子的绳索断了，就在这里安家，地名叫篮断，之后谐音为南村。人民公社时期村叫南美大队，1983年为南美乡，1987年为管理区，1999年设南村村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，上榜「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」；2021年1月，河源市文明委授予「2020年度河源市文明村」；2023年4月，在「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位名单内；2023年5月，获「2022年广东省卫生村」。[1]
