1999年经平远县人民政府批准成立（平府函1999年11号文）。[1]

经济[edit]

农作物有水稻、花生、玉米、沙田柚和蔬菜，主村道10公里已水泥硬化，村内有石灰石矿场2处。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2026年3月，双石村被认定为「广东省第三批“百千万工程”典型村镇」。[1]
