灵水村在东石圩东北约5公里，隶属平远县东石镇，辖9个村民小组，登记258户、950人；村域面积1.67平方公里，耕地约1114亩。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
新中国成立初期设乡，其后在1958年成为石北大队，1983年改称小乡，1987年改设村民委员会；1989年灵水与白岭分为两个管理区，1999年又设灵水村民委员会。[1]
经济[edit]
农作物有水稻、花生、玉米、黄豆和三华李，村内办有瓷土矿场1处、小水电站3处。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
村中的毓秀书院，是平远石北乡苏维埃政府旧址。书院由林姓后人萱秀公在清光绪年间建造，长期办学，1908年曾作灵水、白岭、麻塘三村共用的学堂；建筑宽20米、深15米，有10间房、5个厅、1间舍和2个天井，属二堂一横的客家围屋。1928年5月，共产党员曾庆禄在这里秘密活动，组建石北乡农会和赤卫队；同年8月成立中共灵水支部，10月中共平远县委成立后机关一度设在书院；1929年3月中共东石区委在此成立，同年9月平远县首个苏维埃政府也在此诞生，名为石北乡苏维埃政府。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，灵水村名列「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」。[1]
