明洋村位于东石圩南面约4公里，隶属平远县东石镇，辖11个村民小组，登记650户、2440人，总面积12.98平方公里，耕地约2211亩。[1]
地名由来[edit]
新中国成立初期成立农会时，各取明新小学和洋塘村名的第一个字，合成“明洋”，沿用至今。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1949年设明洋乡；1958年建明洋大队，1975年划归坝头公社，1987年重归东石镇管辖；1983年改称小乡，1987年成立村民委员会，1989年改称管理区，1999年重设村民委员会。[1]
经济[edit]
种水稻、玉米、花生和沙田柚；每年以公司加农户方式种甜玉米150多亩、花生300多亩。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，明洋村名列「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」。[1]
