新一村位于华城镇北部，原属新桥一带，村内有清代的新一戴氏宗祠（桂园围），为梅州市文物保护单位。[1]

地名由来与沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网所载，解放前此地属华城第八区新桥区公所，新一分作十五、十六两堡，1946年合并为第九堡；解放后按新桥洞的序数排列，居第一，取名新一。1949年立新一乡，1958年起设新一大队，1983年改由乡政府管理，到1989年又改设管理区；1999年管理区撤销，建立新一村委会。[1]

文物[edit]

新一戴氏宗祠（桂园围）建于清代，2016年6月29日由梅州市人民政府公布为第四批梅州市文物保护单位。[1]
