高华村位于华城镇西南部，濒潭下河，村名出自当年河边的高大水车「高车头」。[1]
地名由来[edit]
据博雅地名网所载，解放前村民为方便灌溉，在潭下河边装了一架依靠水流冲转的水车，造得很高大，人们称它「高车」，带动水车转动的部分叫「高车头」，村名也由此称作高华。[1]
沿革与荣誉[edit]
1949年立高华乡，1958年起设高华大队，1983年改由乡政府管理，到1989年又改设管理区；1999年管理区撤销，建立高华村委会。[1]2023年2月评上五华县的2022年度文明村镇。；另在2019年9月被省里列为2018年「民主法治示范村（社区）」的创建单位。[1]
