高竹村在华城镇东南部，因盛产甜竹、麻竹、绿竹而得名。[1]
地名与沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网所载，村内盛产甜竹、麻竹和绿竹，故名高竹。1958年以前归万竹乡；那一年起为华城公社的高竹大队，1976年至1983年转到兴林公社名下；1984年华城区设高竹管理区，1999年成为华城镇的村民委员会。[1]
概况与荣誉[edit]
村辖12个村民小组，页面所载在册620户、3064人，耕地1800亩，土地总面积5.9平方公里。2023年2月评上五华县的2022年度文明村镇。[1]
