显朝村是梅州市梅县区桃尧镇辖下的行政村，旧称涧头坑，位于镇中部。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

旧时村民引村头山涧与村尾长坑的水灌溉农田，村称涧头坑；客家话中「涧头」与「显朝」读音相近，后改作显朝。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

显朝清末隶尧塘堡，民国隶尧塘乡，解放初划入隆文区；1958年为梅东公社的显朝大队，1961年改隶新分出的桃尧公社；1986年改作显朝管理区，1999年再改为显朝村委会。[1]

概况[edit]

据百度百科，村域面积6.1平方千米，分5个村民小组，户籍人口679人，主要种植柚子。[2]村里还拆除危旧房8360平方米，并通了公交车。[2]广东省公布2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单时（2019年9月），显朝村名列其中。[1]
