历史沿革[edit]
据村里的说法，先祖来此开基时，见满山翠竹、山水清秀，好似世外桃源，村名由此而来。[1]自明清开基到1949年，这里是桃源乡；合作化时期分作上村、下村两个初级社，后并入高级社；1958年成立桃源大队，其后经管理区（1986年）演变为现在的村委会（1999年）。[1]桃尧镇名中的「桃」字即取自桃源。[2]
荣誉[edit]
桃源村在2012年12月进入第一批中国传统村落名录，2019年12月成为首批国家森林乡村，2026年3月又被认定为广东省第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇。[1]广东省公布2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单时（2019年9月），桃源村名列其中。[1]
