地名由来[edit]
旧时村民大多外出江西、福建一带谋生，留下耕田的农民，村名因此叫余耕；后来余耕村与福禄坑村合并，改称余坑村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1949年设余坑乡，1958年改称余坑大队，1986年改作余坑管理区，1999年再改为余坑村委会。[1]

据百度百科，村域面积6.3平方千米，分10个村民小组，户籍人口726人。[2]广东省公布2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单时（2019年9月），余坑村名列其中。[1]
