地名由来与历史沿革[edit]
元至正年间的1340年，张姓开基祖张德兴在此建村，村中小河盛产石螺，民国时期村名改作石螺江，人民公社以后简称螺江。[1]行政归属上，清末是梅县尧塘堡，民国时是尧塘乡，建国初并入隆文区石松乡；1956年为桃尧乡石螺江村，1958年成为梅东公社螺江大队，1961年随桃尧公社另立，1983年改为桃尧区螺江乡，1986年又改称螺江管理区。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
村里有国民革命军将领张民达的故居，百度百科称其为「逸庐」，镇政府曾计划修缮并建成爱国主义教育基地。[2]详见桃尧镇条目。
经济与荣誉[edit]
据百度百科，村域面积9.3平方千米，分14个村民小组，人口1427人，耕地约1400亩，梅州金柚是主要作物；该村2022年的农村经济总收入为1588万元。[2]2020年8月，螺江村入选首批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单（金柚）。[1]广东省公布2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单时（2019年9月），螺江村名列其中。[1]
