地名由来[edit]
村中央原有一口大水塘，民居建在塘的尾部；客家话里「尾」与「美」同音，所以叫大美。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
大美在1949年设乡；1958年为大美大队，1983年一度设乡政府，再往后依次为管理区（1986年）和村委会（1999年）。[1]
广东省公布2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单时（2019年9月），大美村名列其中。[1]
