历史沿革[edit]
沈氏开基祖茂山公于明洪武二十八年（1395年）从隆文岩前迁来定居。这是一处四面环山的小盆地，原名深凹，建国后写作深教。茂山公到来时，村里已住着徐、黄、高、傅四姓，经过约一百年，其他姓氏陆续迁走，留下沈氏与少数黄姓。[1]
1949年立深教乡，归桃尧区；1958年成为梅县桃尧公社的深教大队；1987年改设管理区，1999年改设村委会。[1]广东省公布2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单时（2019年9月），深教村名列其中。[1]
