水车镇是广东省梅州市梅县区南部的一个镇，镇政府设在水车圩镇，距梅州城区约30公里，下辖1个圩镇社区和18个行政村，总面积约123平方千米。[1][2]据博雅地名网，镇名与境内较早使用筒式水车灌溉农田有关。[1]镇内茶山村是中国历史文化名村，茶山绍德堂为广东省文物保护单位。[1][5]

历史沿革[edit]

清代，梅江东岸为龙文堡辖地，西岸为大小立堡辖地。民国二十年（1931年）起属梅县第七区，1941年改属第二区，一部分归大立乡，一部分归龙文乡。[2]1950年归梅南区；1952年大立乡划入荷泗大区，1956年水车另立为乡，1958年并入梅南人民公社。1959年6月水车自成人民公社，1983年冬改称区，1987年改为镇。[2]

地理环境[edit]

镇域东南与径义及丰顺县的建桥、丰良相邻，西南接畲江，东北为梅南，西北为荷泗以及兴宁市的径南、新圩。[2]梅江自西南流向东北，把镇域分成东、西两片；206国道、广梅汕铁路和梅揭汕高速公路都从境内通过。[2]地势东南高、中部低，东南面的九龙嶂高1013米；小桑水的集雨面积为50.5平方千米，大窝水为36平方千米。[2]境内查明有钴矿、瓷土、稀土和矿泉水资源。[2]

人口民族[edit]

据博雅地名网所载的镇概况，全镇有5792户、21462人（未注明年份），其中侨眷占55%，设村民小组198个。[2]该网另载，第七次全国人口普查（2020年）时水车镇人口为1.02万人，两处数字相差较大。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

茶山村保存明代至民国的传统民居34座，2010年入选第五批中国历史文化名村，2012年入选第一批中国传统村落。[8][6]其中茶山绍德堂是黄氏宗祠，落成于明嘉靖十五年（1536年），2019年4月公布为第九批广东省文物保护单位。[5]另有茶山资政第（2015年第三批）以及大夫第、畅云楼、德崇楼（2017年第五批）列为梅州市文物保护单位。[3]

水车窑是唐代烧造青瓷的古窑，中心窑场在镇内瓦坑口；1982年广东省博物馆对镇内唐代窑址作考古发掘，窑以此得名。[4]据博雅地名网，梧塘村瓦坑口一带的山岗遗址出土过唐代青瓷碗、碟、杯、盘、执壶等。[2][3]黄琪翔故居（仪园）在先锋村。[3]

著名人物[edit]

钟若潮（1911年—1944年），水车镇人，少年赴暹罗谋生，后回国参加东江抗日斗争，1944年5月在梅塘战斗中牺牲；2015年列入民政部第二批著名抗日英烈名录。[7]
