梧塘村为梅县区水车镇所辖行政村，据村中黄氏族谱，明代中期已有中原汉民迁居。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
据村中黄氏族谱，明代中期陆续有中原汉民南迁来此定居。[1]村名先叫梧桐村，因山岗上有梧桐树；后来梧桐会枯老，山岗下又有祠堂和一口大水塘，改称梧塘。[1]清代归嘉应州大小立堡，民国时期属梅县大立乡，1953年起属水车乡，1999年起设梧塘村委会。[1]
镇概况页记，梧塘村瓦坑口一带发现多处山岗遗址，出土唐代青瓷器物。[2]
