泮坑村为梅县区水车镇所辖行政村，村名由“半坑”改写而来。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，此地古时一带水域广阔，泥沙淤积成陆后地势不平、坑洼多，原叫半坑；后来有风水先生建议把“半”改为“泮”，“入泮”即入学读书，村民因此看重这个字。[1]1987年设泮坑管理区，1999年起为泮坑村委会。[1]2019年9月，村列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位名单」。[1]
