棠下村属博罗县观音阁镇。村名的缘由是曾姓迁来后在华岭脚下落户，门前有塘，周围种海棠。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1999年起设棠下村民委员会，此前1986年叫棠下管理区，1958年划入观音阁人民公社；1953年曾属石坝区华岭乡；民国时期归河源县华岭田心；清代以前隶博罗县苏州巡司署。2021年12月，棠下村获评广东省卫生村；2019年9月进入2018年度广东省民主法治示范村创建单位名单。[1]
