靖村是宅梧镇南部的行政村，隔一条河与宅梧圩镇相望。广东人民抗日解放军的司令部和政治部旧址都在村内。^[1]^[2]

历史沿革[edit]

据地名资料，村子起初由郑姓先人迁来建立，称郑村，后来郑姓迁走，明清时期当地话读音转为“靖村”。^[1]

清代属鹤山县双桥都，民国属第四区；1954年称靖村乡，1958年为宅梧公社靖村大队，1986年称靖村管理区，1998年改为靖村村民委员会。^[1]

村民以种植、养殖和林业为生，主要作物有水稻、茄子和花生。宅更公路、双和高速和高铜公路从村旁经过。^[1]

珠江纵队的林锵云、罗范群、谢立夫等人率部挺进粤中，攻下宅梧后转到靖村驻扎：司令部住余氏宗祠，政治部住李氏宗祠。^[1]

司令部旧址即余氏大宗祠，硬山顶，仅后楼保存至今，近年在重建修复。政治部旧址则在堂厦村，属民国建筑，于2019年4月19日列入第五批文物保护单位。^[1]^[2]

2021年12月，靖村获评2021年度省卫生村；2022年，列为省乡村治理示范村及民主法治示范村（社区）的创建单位；2023年11月，进入「广东“百千万工程”首批典型县镇村」名单。^[1]
