观音阁社区是观音阁镇政府驻地的镇中心区社区，在博罗县东北部，1986年设居民委员会。圩镇的名称来自本地的观音堂。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
这里在崇祯二年（1629年）已见居民点，旧称埠鹅。其后陈姓迁入开店（乾隆二年，1737年），村民又在东江边建埠鹅古寺供坐莲观音（乾隆二十六年，1761年），店铺多起来，成了墟镇，叫观音阁。[1]
行政隶属：解放前归河源县；1952年划作博罗二区观音阁乡；1958年并入杨显人民公社，次年3月又分出，转入观音阁公社；1983年随公社改区；1986年改镇，同年起设社区居民委员会，沿用至今。[1]
