伍塘村属博罗县观音阁镇。村名是三个生产单位合并时各取一字而成。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
初级社并入高级社时，五和社、宦忠塘、莲塘合在一起，各取一字，称伍塘。建国后先属观音阁乡；1958年立伍塘大队；1983年为伍塘乡；1986年为管理区；1999年改设伍塘村民委员会。2021年12月，伍塘村获广东省卫生村称号。[1]
