横江尾村是罗阳街道下辖的行政村，原属义和镇。元初卢氏从博罗县城迁来定居，村庄坐落在一道矮山岗的尾端，山岗连接太平山脉与东江边的“雄鸡拍翼”山脉，并横跨在一片稻田中间，故名横江尾。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代隶博罗县典史署（万安约），民国时期编入一、二区十四保。新中国成立后先归一区附城乡，人民公社化时划归义和乡，1963年起属义和公社的云步大队；1992年单设横江尾村管理区，1999年起沿用“义和镇横江尾村”之名；2002年义和并入罗阳镇后，设村民委员会。[1][2]
