历史沿革[edit]
据传清代石田约（今长贵一带）与金水约（新结、学田一带）的村民素来和睦，共议开办圩市，取重义和好之意，称义和。[1]
建国后，这里先属一区，实行区乡制后归附城乡。1956年11月撤区并乡时才有了义和乡，两年后，即1958年10月，该乡并进附城人民公社。义和公社于1980年自附城公社分出单独建立；恢复区乡建置后，1983年称义和区，1986年1月改为义和乡（镇级乡建制）；1993年12月撤乡建镇，成为义和镇，圩镇居民另设义和居委会。义和镇在2003年并入罗阳镇。[1]
2024年12月，义和社区被评为惠州市2024年度绿色社区。[1]
