虾塱村是罗阳街道下辖的行政村（博雅地名网作“虾浪村”）。清乾隆年间（1736—1795），一户渔民住在梅花的下马石，因塱地一带湖中鱼虾多，常来捕捞，后来定居，村名取为虾塱。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代隶博罗县典史署，民国时期编入一、二区四保。新中国成立后先归一区附城乡，1958年属附城人民公社三徐乡，1963年起属三徐大队；1979年另设虾塱大队，1983年11月称罗阳区虾塱乡，1986年1月称罗阳镇虾塱管理区，1999年起称虾塱村民委员会。[1][2]
