鸡麻地村是罗阳街道下辖的行政村。村名有一段传说：清康熙年间，卢、廖两姓迁来，先住在方屋山窝，据说山里常听到母鸡的啼声（客家人称母鸡为“鸡乸”），村民嫌不吉利，搬到离山较远的山窝居住。[1]

地名由来[edit]

后来一位风水先生见此山形如母鸡入笼，当地人便造了一座鸡乸形的坟，村名由坟得名“鸡乸地”；嫌“乸”字不雅，改用同音的“麻”字，成了今名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代属博罗县典史署管辖；民国时期编入一、二区八保。新中国成立后先隶一区附城乡，人民公社化时为附城公社的鸡麻地大队。1983年11月，罗阳区设鸡麻地乡；1986年1月改为鸡麻地管理区，归罗阳镇；1999年起设鸡麻地村民委员会。[1]

2022年10月，鸡麻地村进入当年公布的淘宝村名单。[1]
