历史沿革[edit]
1998年11月，怀集县政府以怀发〔1998〕20号文批准设立坡下村村民委员会，因村落坐落在一座高大的山坡下得名。[1]
该村1958年编为生产大队，1983年11月改设乡，1987年又改为村委会，1989年4月起设管理区，1998年11月改称村民委员会[1]。
获得的称号和名单：
- 2019年9月，列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单[1]
经济[edit]
村处丘陵山岗地带，建水电站、引进木业公司种速生桉，并开发当地矿产。农业以造林为主，种水稻、花生，养猪。村情材料称这里是革命老区村。[1]
