历史沿革[edit]
村中土质是黄土，沙子较多，村名由此而来。[1]
该村1958年编为生产大队，1983年11月改设乡，1987年又改为村委会，1989年4月起设管理区，1998年11月改称村民委员会[1]。
经济[edit]
村寨在半山坡上，高塘电站、长洞电站都在黄沙境内。村里引资建水电站，并与县扶贫单位国营新岗林场合作种速生桉。农业以造林为主，水田种水稻、花生。村情材料称这里是革命老区村。[1]
