历史沿革[edit]
1998年11月，怀集县政府以怀发〔1998〕20号文批准设立社背村村民委员会，而村委会就设在社背村，故以此为名。[1]
该村1958年编为生产大队，1983年11月改设乡，1987年又改为村委会，1989年4月起设管理区，1998年11月改称村民委员会[1]。
经济[edit]
近年得到肇庆市星湖科技公司的支持，办公设施逐步完善；村里引资建水电站，并引进木业公司在山上种桉树。农业以造林为主，种水稻、花生，养猪。村情材料称这里是革命老村。[1]
