历史沿革[edit]
1998年11月，怀集县政府以怀发〔1998〕20号文批准设立谿村村民委员会，而村委会就设在谿村而得名（博雅地名网写作谿村村）。[1]
该村1958年编为生产大队，1983年11月改设乡，1987年又改为村委会，1989年4月起设管理区，1998年11月改称村民委员会[1]。
经济[edit]
村处丘陵山岗地带，村寨村道已硬底化。村里引资建水电站，开发矿产，并与国营新岗林场合作种速生桉；村情材料说上一年成功创建了一个省级卫生村。农业以造林为主，种水稻、花生，养猪、养鱼。村情材料称这里是革命老村，矿产资源丰富。[1]
