桃一村在沙浦镇西部，羚羊峡下，距沙浦圩镇10公里。据博雅地名网，南宋宁宗年间（1168年—1224年），何氏族人迁居于此。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

相传在南宋宁宗年间，何氏族人迁到此处定居。1949年以前属高要县第四区；1953年归第八区桃溪乡管辖，其后经广利区头溪乡、广星人民公社，至1959年2月编为桃一大队，隶沙浦人民公社。[1]1983年4月起称桃一乡，1986年称桃一村，1988年3月随沙浦镇划归鼎湖区。[1]

人口与经济[edit]

全村有6条自然村、16个村民小组，790户，2264人，耕地3854亩（博雅地名网，未注明统计年份）；2008年村、组两级集体经济年收入合计2593万元，农民人均纯收入6224元。[1]农业以粉葛、肇实、水稻、莲藕、蔬菜和养鱼为主，务工经商者多从事商饮服务和建筑运输。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，桃一村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。[1]
