白石镇是广东省茂名市信宜市东部的镇，距信宜市区19千米，辖1个社区、19个行政村。[1][2]镇名取自境内的白石岗，清代即设白石堡，1986年由白石区改为镇。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

地名起于清代，境内的白石岗是得名之由，当时设白石堡。[1][3]民国二十一年（1932年）境内分为8个乡，即扶龙、德连、岳龙、沙溪、大成、石垌、官山、石屏；民国二十九年（1940年）又合为两个乡：扶龙等前四乡并成白石南乡，大成等后四乡并成白石上乡。[3]

新政权建立后，此地起初是信宜县的第五区，1952年调整为第十区。此后的变化依次为：1957年拆成白石、沙底、大成3个乡；1958年11月建白石公社；1983年10月设白石区；1986年撤区建镇。[3]

地理环境[edit]

全镇面积约180平方千米，在信宜市各街道乡镇中居第5位；人口3.94万，居第11位。[1]359国道经过镇境，省道达北线则自东向西贯穿全镇。[1][4]

经济[edit]

博雅地名网记载，镇内水电资源蕴藏量约1.2万千瓦，当时已开发960千瓦，建有水电站24座；矿藏包括钠长石、高岭土、铜、铁和石英石，钠长石可露天开采，储量不少于1000万吨；林业以松、杉为主，蓄积量约36万立方米。[1]农业方面，镇上有三华李、龙眼、香蕉、红橙等水果基地，山地养鸡年饲养量约400万只，竹器编织也是出口产品。[1]

辖内四方田、河坝铺、大坑、白鸡、金林、丽垌、吉度等村，2021年9月被广东省农业农村厅列入第二批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村，主导产业是三华李。[5]

2023年，中国新闻网报道，位于白石镇的三华李度假区是广东首批「高速公路服务区景区化」的「交旅融合」项目，内有钢格栅索桥、民宿、精酿啤酒坊等设施，并与村集体约定每售出一张门票，村集体分得3元。[6]
