龙头镇在广东省湛江市坡头区东北部，东与吴川市黄坡镇交界，南邻坡头镇，西靠官渡镇，北接吴川市塘㙍镇[1]。镇域面积约112平方千米，2025年户籍人口73657人；镇政府设在解放一横路2号，离坡头区政府23千米[1]。明代中叶这里属吴川县，1987年撤区公所改设镇，归坡头区管辖[1]。2021年10月的资料显示，全镇辖1个社区、11个行政村[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

龙头一带在明代中叶属吴川县[1]。新中国成立初期，各村多属吴川县第七区，1958年起建龙头公社；1984年坡头区成立后，龙头区公所归其管辖，1987年撤区公所，改设龙头镇[1][2]。镇内各村的建制也在这几十年里反复调整：1983年公社改称乡，1987年前后多数乡改为村民委员会，1990年前后一度称管理区，1999年起又陆续恢复为村民委员会[2]。

地理环境[edit]

龙头镇在坡头区东北部，与吴川市的黄坡镇、塘㙍镇相邻，在区内同坡头镇、官渡镇毗连[1]。境内有325国道和286省道交汇，据博雅地名网所录的镇概况，镇区距湛江市区32公里[3]。该概况还写道，镇内有丰富的建筑花岗岩石，已探明高岭土储量2000万吨；甘村水库是坡头区唯一的饮用水库；海岸线长20公里，海滩涂7000多亩[3]。这些数字未注明统计年份。气候属北热带季风气候[1]。

龙头镇是坡头区工业发展的重点区域，辖区内有湛江国家高新区海东园区等重点项目；按2025年的统计，镇内生产总值合计20.89亿元[1]。莫村的土地曾为高新区征用：2019年湛江国家高新区在莫村选址，20多天就完成了龙头镇第一批城镇建设用地378亩的征收，当地称之为“龙头速度”，湛江湾实验室的用地也在该村[5]。

博雅地名网所录的镇概况（未注明年份）称，当时镇内有规模以上企业6家，家用电器、酿酒、纸箱印刷包装、木业、高岭土等企业落户；“红牌”“威力神”两个商标是省级著名商标[3]。

文化[edit]

学校设置上，镇里办有2所初中、2所完全小学和10所幼儿园[1]。2023年，坡头区把村里的小卖部（当地叫“铺仔”）改造成“咱村铺仔”，作为村民议事、办文明积分超市等的场所，莫村的“咱村铺仔”是区里的示范点之一[6]。

名胜古迹[edit]

霞街林氏家族墓在龙头镇那洋村麻皮岭，年代为明代，2010年12月1日湛江市公布第七批市级文物保护单位时列入古墓葬类[4]。莫村的莫氏大宗祠内设莫族历史博物馆和革命战争纪念馆，被选为湛江市爱国主义教育基地[5]。
