历史沿革[edit]
沿革：以下由近及远：1999年设置村民委员会；1989年改称龙头管理区；1987年2月设置村委会；1983年设置龙头乡；1958年这六村并为龙头大队；1956年，九龙两村归龙头乡，沙村、方村隶属于土角乡，龙西、禅妙隶属于禅妙乡。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
镇海雷祠在龙头村，宋代主持开凿东西洋水渠的何庾、戴之邵为祭祀雷祖陈文玉建祠，相传即此；明代推官高维岳、叶际英重新疏通水渠时又添建碑亭。祠分三进，两侧有走廊，占地建筑680平方米。该祠于1994年9月被雷州市列为文物保护单位。[2]
