光明村是南三镇下辖的行政村，村名取“南有灯塔、北有光明”之意[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

光明乡设于1950年，当时隶吴川县滨海区；两年后划入该县第九区，1953年12月再改隶雷东县第四区。1958年改设光明大队，归南三公社管辖，其中1961年起一度改隶灯塔公社，1963年才回到南三公社。1983年复称乡，1984年6月坡头区成立后归南三区公所；1987年称村民委员会，1990年称管理区，1999年再称村民委员会，沿用至今[1]。

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，光明村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单；2026年1月，获评「广东省第二批百千万工程典型村」[1]。
