光明村是广州市增城区荔湖街道辖下的行政村，在原荔城街南部，靠近荔新公路收费站，荔新公路从村域穿过，村域面积7.11平方千米[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
最初隶属一区清燕乡；土改时的1952年，立为光明小乡。1956年，原三村、四村的五个初级社合并成高级社，取名光明社；公社化时叫光明大队。1983年11月恢复为乡，1987年1月起设村委会，沿用至今[1]。村名来自村委会设在光明村[1]。
地理与人口[edit]
荔新公路以北为北片，地形以农田、池塘和丘陵为主，是主要的居住和生产区域，村委会也在北片；公路以南为南片，以丘陵、农田为主[1]。北片各自然村入口处都有依山傍水的祠堂；其中石门楼自然村曾被评为增城市生态文明村[1]。全村总人口3100人，650户，收入主要来自农业、外出经商和务工[1]。
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；广东省爱卫会2023年5月授予它2022年度广东省卫生村称号[1]。
