村名[edit]
龟山村因村边有座形似大海龟的山而得名；粉洲基村建在土名“粉洲围基”上；梁家庄以梁姓族人聚居命名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
解放后称龟山村，隶新会县第八区莲溪乡；1965年起称光明队，隶属斗门县西安公社莲溪乡；1984年起称光明乡，属莲溪区公所；1986年改光明村委会；2003年起归莲洲镇。[1]2023年11月，光明村进入广东“百千万工程”首批典型县镇村。[1]
据博雅地名网的镇概况页（2006年前后的文字），江珠高速公路在光明村附近设有一个出入口。[2]
