龙田是汕头市澄海区广益街道的社区，在澄海中心市区西部，辖21个居民小组，人口10680人。宋代先民在田中搭屋定居，最初叫田寮。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

宋庆历三年（1043），先民在田间盖茅屋居住，村子取名田寮。到崇祯十二年（1639），村里的举人卢升用《易经》“见龙在田”一语，把村名改成龙田。[3]旧属海阳县怀德乡下外莆都，嘉靖四十二年（1563）归澄海县。1953年独立设龙田乡，1986年设龙田村，1996年1月改属广益街道，2002年设龙田社区。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

社区东面有“田宝”塔，原名文明塔，建于明万历七年（1579年）。境内还有6亩的晖阳公园。[4]

经济[edit]

社区靠近澄海中心市区，集体出资建起广华工业区的通用厂房，前三期面积10万平方米，全部出租，入驻企业40多家，从业人员4000多人，年租金收入700多万元。2009年集体收入过千万元，辖区工业产值逾10亿元。社区获过“汕头市五个好村党组织”“广东省六好平安和谐社区”等称号。[1][4]
