历史沿革[edit]
地名志说，村南北有沙陇横贯，当时视为龙脉，所以叫龙坑。[3]旧属海阳县中外都，嘉靖四十二年（1563）归澄海县；早先与上坑、石牌、斗门合称石斗坑。1953年下坑、上坑、官湖合为龙坑乡，1984年上坑、下坑合设上下坑乡，1986年设下坑村，1990年设龙坑管理区，1996年1月改属广益街道，2002年设龙坑社区。[2]
经济[edit]
社区现有人口2242人、500户，耕地926亩，山林706亩。外资企业美成化工、海联塑胶以及50多家民营企业设在这里，以加工塑料玩具为主。特产有弯镰洲的“乌腊蔗”；大池一带的土质肥沃透气，适合种兰花。2009年工业总产值超过2亿元。[1]
