历史沿革[edit]
村分内外两部分，内部称“坑”，三面有象形的山围着，叫象坑村，后改名上坑。[3]原是海阳县中外莆都辖地，澄海建县的1563年（嘉靖四十二年）起划归澄海县，早先与下坑、石牌、斗门合称石斗坑。1984年上坑、下坑合设上下坑乡，1986年设上坑村，1996年1月改属广益街道，2002年设上坑社区。[2]
名胜古迹[edit]
村中古榕旁有古迹“接龙桥”。相传宋末（1279年）陆秀夫扶持宋帝昺抗元，路过这里，村民用石板架桥让他们通过，后人在古榕旁立碑记事。这是博雅地名网所载的传说。[1]
经济[edit]
社区现有人口800人、170户，耕地600亩，种水稻、蔬菜。辖区有十多家工业企业，以塑料玩具为主，2009年工业总产值超过1亿元，人均纯收入2098元。[1]
