高堂社区位于汕头市潮南区两英镇区北侧，东与峡山、西与司马浦相邻，是平原侨乡村[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

据记载，南宋祥兴三年（1278年）村初称高塘，因村中心地势高、四周多水而得名，后改称高堂[1]。

后来属潮阳县洋乌都；1950年划入高华第二乡，公社化时设高堂大队，1986年改居委会，1999年复称高堂居委会[1]。

社区概况[edit]

全社区8169人，下分四个自然村，1.3平方千米；2009年的工农业总产值是5238万元[1]。2022年8月它成为省民主法治示范创建单位，2024年4月又进入省第一批乡村振兴示范村创建名单[1]。
