墙新社区是汕头市潮南区两英镇镇区中心的一个居民社区，北接陈库，东连美林，南和西面与新厝、永丰为邻[1]。居民的祖先在清康熙十九年（1680年）从普宁前山仔迁到墙围，宅外筑墙，后来分成墙老、墙新两部分[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
村宅四周筑墙，原称墙围；后分为墙老、墙新，居委会驻在墙新，故称墙新[1]。康熙十九年（1680年），先民自普宁前山仔举家北上，落户潮阳黄陇都的墙围[1]。
新中国成立后先属古围乡；人民公社时期编入美新大队；1983年建墙新乡，1986年起改设居委会，其间1992年一度叫墙新管理区，1999年又恢复居委会之名[1]。

社区面积900亩，居民5344人、854户，工商业较发达；据2009年统计，工农业总产值为4.3亿元，人均收入5216元[1]。同年9月，它被评为全国民主法治示范村，10月又获全国体育先进单位称号[1]。到2026年1月，墙新又列入广东省第二批百千万工程典型村名单[1]。
