地名与沿革[edit]
村在一条河的东侧，故称东滘，曾叫东滘口。[2]村民多临水而居，以捕鱼和养殖为生，是典型的疍家村。[2]解放后隶新会县第八区赤坎乡；1965年起称东滘大队，隶属斗门县上横公社；1984年改东滘乡，1986年改东滘村委会；2003年起归莲洲镇。[2]
产业与荣誉[edit]
村里以水产养殖为主，脆肉罗非是特色产品；2021年9月入选广东省第二批“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村。[1][2]2023年11月进入广东“百千万工程”首批典型县镇村，2024年1月公布的2023年度广东省民主法治示范村（社区）名单中有该村，2024年4月进入广东省第一批乡村振兴示范村创建名单。[2]
