地名与沿革[edit]
村在河滘的西头，故称西滘，曾名西滘口；当地盛产鱼虾，渔民不断迁入聚居而成村。[1]解放后隶新会县第八区赤坎乡；1966年起称西滘大队，隶属斗门县上横公社；1984年改西滘乡，1986年改西滘村委会；2003年起归莲洲镇。[1]
龙舟与乡村振兴[edit]
博雅地名网称西滘村是斗门区乡村振兴示范村，以龙舟文化、生态治理和农旅融合见长，村里留有一艘“冠军龙”，属珠海最早定制的那批坤甸木龙舟。[1]
莲洲通用机场[edit]
珠海莲洲通用机场位于西滘村西北侧，2017年5月开工，2019年3月获发A1级通用机场的使用许可，同年12月31日首条航线开通；跑道长900米、宽30米。[2]镇政府2022年的工作报告还提到，西滘泵站技改工程提前一个月完成。[3]
