沙田是韶关市新丰县沙田镇的镇中心社区，镇政府驻地沙田圩即在此，区划代码为440233103001。[1] 地名源于当地河流边的天然沙堤，曾有军户在此屯田。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

沙田一带古称麻沙洞。长宁县（新丰县的旧称）设置后，这里立沙田约；民国30年（1941年）起改称沙田墟。[1] 1957年起为沙田乡，1959年改称沙田大队；1983年建乡人民政府之后，先后经历村民委员会（1986年）和管理区（1990年）的阶段，1998年转为居民委员会，2002年定名沙田社区居民委员会。[1]

地名由来[edit]

博雅地名网记述，名称来自河边的天然沙堤：当地曾在此设「拔中所」的旗军，屯田征粮，因而叫沙田。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，沙田社区列入2018年度广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
