沙田镇是广东省韶关市新丰县下辖的镇，位于县境西部，辖1个社区和17个行政村，镇政府驻沙田圩，面积约242.2平方千米。[1][2] 全镇以山区农业为主，1987年建镇，2021年列入广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」水果专业镇。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

这一带在1950年设沙坪区，1958年改称公社，1983年改为区，1987年建镇，定名沙田镇。[1][2]

据1996年的统计，全镇面积242.4平方千米、人口2.4万人，下设17个管理区，数目和今天的行政村相同，只是当时的叫法不同。[2]

地理环境[edit]

沙田镇位于新丰县西部，是山区镇，镇政府驻沙田圩，距县城约50千米。[1][2] 省道347线穿过镇境：往北通回龙、翁源和韶关，往西通遥田和英德，往南通从化，往东通新丰县城。[1] 镇内的水力资源较多，另有瓷土、稀土等矿产。[1]

人口民族[edit]

2011年末，全镇面积241.5平方千米，户籍人口23319人，农业户籍占22002人。[2] 第七次全国人口普查（2020年）时，常住人口为1.11万人，在新丰县各镇街中居第6位。[1] 居民绝大多数是汉族客家人，通行客家话。[5]

经济[edit]

沙田镇以种植业为主，水稻和反季节蔬菜是传统作物；镇概况提到的产业基地有蔬菜、水果、三元杂交猪，以及竹子、松香。[1] 镇政府招商介绍的水果和特色作物包括百香果、砂糖桔、奇异果（猕猴桃）、马蹄和霸王花：百香果基地2017年初创办，面积已达1500多亩；砂糖桔引种20多年，种植面积达1万多亩；马蹄在龙潭、阳福两村种了500多亩；奇异果由2015年9月成立的合作社在下埔村种植；霸王花在天中村种植500多亩。[3]

2021年9月，沙田镇列入广东省农业农村厅公布的第三批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业镇名单，产业为水果。[1] 国家地理标志产品新丰佛手瓜的保护范围包括黄礤、丰城、梅坑和沙田四个镇现辖的行政区域。[6] 当地还有一道名菜「鹅醋钵」，博雅地名网称沙田镇早有「鹅鸭之乡」之称。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

阳福村的阳福塔（又名文武帝阁塔）始建于清道光二十九年（1849年），六角五层，通高20.1米，1984年公布为新丰县文物保护单位。[4]
