钟落潭社区是广州市白云区钟落潭镇的镇中心社区，居委会设在长钟路2号。社区之名来自钟落潭圩，圩市在流溪河牛角潭畔。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网所载，圩市始建于宋代，因流溪河沿岸多樟木而称“樟木潭”圩；元、明两代发展为颇具规模的农贸集市，名称又被谐音写作“钟乐潭”。清康熙中期扩建圩市，从广州买来一口大钟，用船逆流运回，行至牛角潭时遇风暴翻船，大钟沉入潭底，渔民屡次打捞无果，人们以为是天意，圩名遂改为“钟落潭”。[1]

另据广州日报的报道，清朝康熙年间此地有形似三角的集市兴起，又称三角市、三角圩。[2]
