南塘村是甘棠镇下辖的村庄，位于镇中心区，濒临海边。[1]

地名由来[edit]

宋元丰年间修筑围塘，塘位于南侧，故称南塘，后来村落聚居于此，沿用了这一名称。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年代初，它归甘棠区南塘乡管辖。1958年组建南塘大队，1984年才改设村民委员会，此后名称未再变动。[2]

荣誉[edit]

本村于2024年1月获评「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1] 2026年1月，村子被确定为「福建省2026年度乡村振兴示范村」。[1]
