南塘村是四会市下茆镇面积最大的行政村之一，下设30个村民小组，登记人口4273人，土地约12.64平方公里（博雅地名网所载）[1]。2026年3月进入「广东省第三批“百千万工程”典型村镇」之列[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
20世纪40年代，这一带一部分属下茆乡，另一部分属留鹿乡，解放初合为南塘乡；南塘大队始于1958年，1987年改设管理区；1998年按粤发〔1998〕14号文件撤销管理区，设南塘村民委员会[1]。
经济[edit]
丘陵地带，鱼塘多，以鱼塘养殖为主，兼养生猪，种甘蔗和蔬菜[1]。辖内的江寨村、江尾村、苗崀村、仙仔村、下江咀村和大寨一二村、大寨三四村，在2023年5月被省爱卫会授予2022年度卫生村称号[1]。
