历史沿革[edit]
雍正十年（1733年），钟、黄、郭、黎、温几姓由惠州桥头、龙川田窝一带迁来立村。立村时多数人种水稻，故以“禾”“谷”二字为名[1]。这一带清代归附城都管辖，民国时划入三区；1957年纳入鹤城乡，1958年随红旗人民公社设禾谷大队；1983年鹤山县设鹤城区公所，改称禾谷乡；1986年起隶鹤城镇，名为禾谷管理区；至1998年，改建为村民委员会，沿用至今[1]。
经济[edit]
2009年村集体经济收入13万多元，村民人均年收入5920元，主要来自山林农田出租、养殖和外出务工经商。村里把农田出租给他人种花卉、番石榴和养鱼[1]。
名胜古迹[edit]
村内的田心自然村是聚族而居的客家古村落，有一百多年历史的碉楼（四新楼）；镇国土空间规划把田心村列为国家级传统村落，要求加以保护[2][3]。
荣誉[edit]
2017年10月获广东省卫生村称号（第一批）；2026年3月被认定为「广东省第三批“百千万工程”典型村镇」[1]。
